The long term goal for most investors is to build a smooth sailing investment real estate portfolio and minimize management by consolidating smaller buildings into larger projects in desirable neighborhoods. I’ve worked my whole career to become the expert in property investment in the Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin areas. Because I'm so focused on the apartment niche I am able to discern the awesome deals from the just okay deals.
I got involved in Real Estate in 1997, at the early age of 19. My very first rental property was a HUD owned tri-plex on Jenks Avenue in Saint Paul, MN. This first year was spent rehabbing the property and after nine months of hard work my first tenants moved in. Within the next year, two more investment properties presented themselves – another duplex right across the street and a small single family home, and I jumped on those opportunities. > READ MORE
OUR AGENTS
Doreen began her career in property management. After the company she was working with partnered with Apartment Cash Flow Inc., she migrated toward the real estate side of investment property and got her real estate license in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. Over the past few years, while focusing on multi-family properties, she has also picked up another specialty - storage facilities. Focusing on Western WI and Eastern MN, this niche has been increasingly active and in high demand. Storage facilities provide a more resilient investment against inflation and recessionary markets. Doreen offers strategies on building investment portfolios while taking the time to work with clients to determine their needs and interests. Doreen believes her client relationships, developed out of trust and hard work, are the most important part of the real estate transaction.
After earning his MN Real Estate license, John spent several years as a residential leasing agent and property manager for a property management company in South Minneapolis. John transitioned from property management to helping people who were ready to purchase or sell their properties. John has worked with traditional (owner occupant) buyers and sellers as well as short-sales, bank-owned and investment properties.
While John is qualified to help people with many different types of real estate transactions, his background in property management allows him to bring a special value to multifamily investor buyers and sellers. Having leased and managed hundreds of rental properties around the Twin Cities, he has a unique perspective on what to look for in a good investment. John enjoys assisting his clients to identify available properties, analyze existing and future cash flow, negotiate terms and guide each transaction to the closing table.
